Why Is My Water Heater Not Heating Up Despite Resetting the Button?

If your water heater won’t heat after pressing reset, an underlying fault is preventing recovery. Typical causes include a failed heating element or thermostat (electric), a gas supply or igniter issue (gas), heavy sediment buildup, or a breaker that won’t hold. The reset will keep tripping until the root problem is repaired. We offer same-day service if booked by 6 PM in Las Vegas, Henderson, and nearby, and we waive the diagnostic if we do the work.

Quick checks:

  • Ensure the breaker or gas shutoff is on.
  • Confirm the unit’s power switch or pilot status.
  • If you hear no ignition, stop and call a pro.
